Huddersfield Giants Community Trust is launching a new Wellbeing Works programme designed to support adults aged 18 to 64 across Kirklees who are unemployed, economically inactive, or facing health-related barriers to work.
The programme offers a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals who may be experiencing low confidence, limited engagement with wellbeing activities, or mental and physical health challenges. Through a combination of physical activity and mental fitness workshops, participants will be supported to improve their wellbeing, build confidence and strengthen resilience.
Running for nine weeks, the programme begins on Friday 27th March, with sessions taking place every Wednesday and Friday from 12pm–2pm.
Each session will include informal check-ins, low-level physical activity and group-based mental fitness workshops. Topics will cover confidence building, resilience, stress management and self-awareness. Participants will also benefit from ongoing support and opportunities to reflect on their progress in a safe and inclusive space.
Delivered at The Zone, the programme is open to adults across Kirklees who feel they would benefit from additional wellbeing and confidence support.
We encourage to register online, however, pre registration is not essential as we understand that some individuals may prefer a more informal approach. You can make direct contact to Jordan Foster via jordan@hgct.co.uk in advance to ensure the best possible support is in place on arrival.
Jordan Foster, Head of Community of Giants Community Trust: “We know that for many people, the biggest barrier to moving forward isn’t always skills or experience, it’s confidence, routine, and self-belief. This programme is about creating a safe and supportive environment where people can take those first steps, improve their wellbeing, and start to see what they are capable of again. Through a mix of physical activity and mental fitness, we want to help people build real, lasting confidence that can support them into volunteering, training, or employment.”
