Huddersfield Giants Community Trust (HGCT) is reaffirming its commitment to the local rugby league community by strengthening relationships and building stronger foundations with it’s ambassador clubs across the region.
Over the last few months, recently appointed Rugby League Development Officer Cammy Augustine has been actively engaging with local community clubs through a series of visits, developing positive relationships with coaches, volunteers and players. These visits have included attending training sessions, supporting coaching delivery and gaining a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges that exist within the grassroots game.
HGCT’s mission is to work collaboratively with representatives from community clubs throughout the local area, strengthening relationships, building upon existing foundations and identifying new ways to grow the game and support clubs both on and off the field.
The Trust has already connected with a number of clubs, with each visit providing valuable opportunities to share ideas, understand local priorities and explore ways in which the Community Trust, Huddersfield Giants and the grassroots game can work more closely together for the benefit of rugby league across the region.
Speaking about the initiative, Cammy Augustine from Huddersfield Giants Community Trust said:
“I’ve been actively out on the ground meeting with our ambassador clubs, taking the time to listen closely to their individual concerns and specific challenges. It’s so important that we understand exactly how myself, the Trust and the Giants can best support them.
“The reception so far has been incredibly positive. There is a real appetite for collaboration and I’m proud to say we’ve already begun bridging that gap. It’s clear that by standing side-by-side with our grassroots community, we’re building something really meaningful that will benefit rugby league for years to come.”
As part of the long-term commitment to grassroots rugby league, HGCT will continue to visit community clubs, attend local events and work alongside community partners to develop opportunities that benefit participants of all ages and abilities.
This initiative reflects Huddersfield Giants Community Trust’s wider vision of creating a positive impact beyond the game itself, using rugby league as a vehicle to bring people together, improve wellbeing and inspire the next generation.
