Huddersfield Giants Community Trust are delighted to announce Fin Balback to the team as Sports Development Officer.
Fin joins the team with a strong passion for community sport and youth development, bringing energy and enthusiasm to supporting local people through physical activity and engagement. In his role, Fin is working closely with education settings, schools, community groups and partner organisations delivering high-quality sports programmes that promote health, wellbeing and participation across Kirklees and the surrounding areas.
A recent graduate from Leeds Beckett University with a second-class honours degree in Sports Coaching, Fin has been involved in coaching for over six years. During this time, he has built an impressive profile, working across a wide range of sectors with participants of all ages and abilities. One of his standout achievements includes representing England at university level, where the team won the Four Nations competition.
Alongside his coaching, Fin has been involved in rugby for over 17 years and recently made his Betfred Championship debut for Hunslet ARLFC.
Speaking on his appointment, Fin said: “I’m extremely proud to be part of Huddersfield Giants Community Trust. Rugby has given me so many opportunities so far and I’m passionate about continuing sharing my knowledge and supporting the local community through coaching and development. I’m excited to help young people grow in confidence, find new passions and achieve their potential.”
