Huddersfield Giants Community Trust partners with Home-Start Kirklees to provide a ‘Family Zone’ to support carers of Under 5’s.
A new, free weekly drop-in service will begin in September, at The Zone – the community hub, powered by Giants Community Trust.
In collaboration, the Trust will support the charity Home-Start with access to The Zone. Lisa Darwin CEO of Giants Community Trust adds: “We are always looking to support local charities and give back. This partnership is one we are keen to develop and help support families with an open, safe and controlled environment”
The Family Zone – powered by Home-Start Kirklees opens it’s doors on Monday 15 September 2025, 1pm–3pm at The Zone, Huddersfield. The sessions will then run every term-time Monday at the same time and place.
Designed to give parents and carers of children under five a safe and welcoming space to seek support, The Family Zone offers advice on a wide range of issues from parenting worries and child development, to financial challenges and mental health.
While adults have the chance to talk with trained staff and volunteers, children under five can enjoy free access to indoor soft play, giving parents peace of mind and a rare opportunity to focus on their own needs.
“We know parenting can be tough, especially in the early years,” said Amy O’Neill, Business Development Manager, Home-Start Kirklees. “The Family Zone is about creating a safe, supportive space where parents can share concerns, find advice, and know they’re not alone.”
The Family Zone is open to all parents and carers of children under five living in Kirklees. No booking is required; families can simply drop in during the sessions.
