Heaton Avenue Primary School Become Giants Partner School

Big G (Left) and Dan Gough (Acting Deputy Headteacher) are joined by pupils with the schools’ partner school plaque.

Heaton Avenue Primary School has become the latest in a succession of schools to benefit from being a Huddersfield Giants Partner School for the 2018/19 academic year.

The Partner School program will see a dedicated Huddersfield Giants Partner Schools Officer regularly delivering PE, health and education sessions within the school in both curriculum and enrichment time throughout the academic year. This sustained delivery period will enable Huddersfield Giants Community Trust, the charitable arm of Huddersfield Giants to make a positive impact upon the health, wellbeing and education of the schools’ pupils.

Huddersfield Giants Community Trust’s Sports Development Manager Dan Wilczynski commented on the partnership: “We have had a very strong start to the partnership with Heaton Avenue and the feedback from children and teachers alike is far beyond what the school was expecting I think, this is consistent across the board of our Partner Schools and we couldn’t be happier to offer such a strong initiative. All of our coaches are so dedicated to each of their own Partner Schools it’s a joy to see the children benefit from the work put in.”

Primary schools interested in becoming a Huddersfield Giants Partner School are encouraged to contact Dan Wilczynski.
