The squad sees a number of players from the 2018 under 19’s squad stepping up to compete within the open age competition which will see them take on some formidable opponents vying for their place in Womens Super League in 2020.
Head Coach Steve Stead commented “We have had a tough pre-season and we are looking ahead to the 2019 season with a very talented squad. It includes players that have progressed from under 19s as well as some exciting new recruits.”
“I am really pleased with how players from our under 19’s are coming along, Chloe Bennett-Gallagher has developed well through preseason and Erin O’Grady looks to be sharper than ever as she competes for the starting half back position. Hard working prop Codie Slack has also impressed and looks ready for the step up to Championship Rugby League.
The squad will be bolstered by a number of new recruits including Imarni Neagle and Izzy Bibby who join the club from Castleford Tigers under 19’s and former Great Britain International’s Shelley Brook & Jordanna Proctor.
Huddersfield Giants Women take on Warrington Wolves on Sunday 24th February in their first preseason friendly before the Championship season commences on Sunday April 7th.
