Libby Morris, 17 years old is making positive steps in Rugby League and is looking to inspire more girls into Rugby League.
Libby, one of our GiantsCT education learners started her journey in Rugby at the age of 16 for Newsome Panthers, but has recently linked up to training with Bradford Bulls first team, with a move to the U19’s pending. A rewarding platform after only a year into her rugby career.
Keen to make positive steps in the game, Libby trains twice a week with Bradford aiming to make a positive impression that will help drive her ambition to reach the top level of the game.
Using the powerful message on International Women’s Day, Libby is looking to inspire more girls to kick start their journey into the sport regardless on age.
Libby shares: ‘My journey in Rugby League started at 16 years old, it’s one of the best decisions I have made joining Newsome Panthers in its inception. Women playing Rugby is growing but the benefits personally through social enjoyment, a team environment, the buzz and the emotional side has made a large impact. I would urge all girls to give it a go!’
Only, 17 years old, Libby still actively plays for community club Newsome Panthers U’18s and would encourage girls and/ or parents of children interested to reach out to the club.
