The appointment of Nazia is an exciting step for the board and Trust, as we progress forward into an important stage after the coronavirus pandemic.
With Nazia joining, she will bring over 20 years of experience within the legal sector, some of which includes working with Charities and Trusts. Nazia completed her degree at the University of Huddersfield, before training and qualifying as a solicitor in 2003. A forward thinker with a flexible approach, the experiences and knowledge she will bring will be a valuable asset to the Trust going forward.
All of our board of Trustees have a close working relationship with CEO Lisa Darwin which will allow Nazia to help support, advise and improve the community provisions already in place.
Nazia is currently a Partner and Head of Contentious Probate at Ramsdens Solicitors in Huddersfield, having previously worked in the North West and Lancashire regions.
Nazia comments on joining the Board as Trustee: “I am honoured to be joining the Board of Trustees of this amazing charity which works tirelessly to provide children and young adults in our diverse communities with opportunities in the sports sector. The Trust aims to encourage and promote healthier lifestyles to improve physical and mental wellbeing in young people, something which I am incredibly passionate about. I look forward to being able to contribute to the work of the Trust as it embraces new opportunities and new ways of working after the easing of lockdown.”
