New Giants Pathway Programme launched to support adults in Kirklees
Huddersfield Giants Community Trust are delighted to launch a new initiative aimed at helping adults across Kirklees improve their wellbeing, build confidence and move towards volunteering or employment.
The Giants Pathway, is a 30-week structured support programme for adults who are currently unemployed or economically inactive.
The initiative is designed to support individuals through a combination of wellbeing activities and practical employability skills, helping participants develop both the confidence and the tools needed to progress into volunteering or work.
Sessions will take place weekly on Mondays, starting on Monday 23 March.
Divided into two focused sections; the first hour centres on wellbeing and mental fitness, with participants taking part in light exercise and practical activities designed to support overall wellbeing. The second hour focuses on employability and skills development, providing participants with practical support to help them become work-ready. Topics covered include CV writing, interview preparation, communication skills, digital skills, job search guidance and understanding workplace expectations.
Alongside the weekly sessions, participants will be offered meaningful volunteering opportunities through Huddersfield Giants Community Trust’s established community programmes across Kirklees. These opportunities are designed to provide real-world experience, helping individuals strengthen their skills and build confidence while progressing towards employment.
Jordan Foster, Head of Community comments: Through the Giants Pathway programme, participants will benefit from the real opportunities created through the Giant brand and its strong community presence across Kirklees. Those who engage and make the most of the programme will gain valuable experience, build confidence and develop the skills needed to move closer to employment.
