An exciting opportunity has become available at Giants Community Trust, the official charity of Huddersfield Giants Rugby Club. We are looking to recruit a passionate individual who will support on our Holiday Camp and other bespoke delivery that engages children from all ages located at our home, The Zone.

Giants Community Trust delivers sports and education-based initiatives into the community. Our aims are to inspire, create opportunities, promote being active, and build a stronger community where everyone belongs. We are looking for a Casual Coach to support with our Holiday Camp Delivery to provide sport and fitness sessions to children during the school holidays.

Job Title: Casual Multi-Sport Coach

Position Description:

The post holder is responsible for the implementation and delivery of various sporting activities including, but not limited to, Rugby League, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, and Multi-Sports to children aged from 5-18 years old.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the coaching staff to deliver high quality sessions to children and will demonstrate a passion for working with children and a willingness to learn and develop.

Role Requirements and Duties:

To work collaboratively with other HGCT staff to ensure that all programmes are delivered to the highest possible standard.
To carry out administrative duties such as attendance registers, incident reports, risk assessments, and camp monitoring and evaluation forms.
To report to the Camps Manager when required.
Create a safe environment for the participants for the camps.
Plan, prepare, and deliver high quality sports coaching sessions to children.
Understand HGCT safeguarding policies and procedures to safeguard children from harm.
Ensure that all equipment is clean and safe to use as well as correctly stored after each session.
To develop and encourage children to live and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Hold at least 1 years’ experience of coaching in a sports setting.
Have experience of coaching in a wide range of environments such as community clubs, schools, and clubs.
Hold an NGB Level 2 Coaching Certificate or Equivalent such as teaching qualification, youth worker.
Ability to actively inspire children to lead happier and healthier lives.
Be passionate about working with children.
A knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children.
Display the ability to work as part of a team and show self-motivation.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to develop and implement high quality and creative sessions for children to engage in, focusing on a child-centred approach.

Desirable:

An ability to keep and maintain records.
Current enhanced DBS check, Safeguarding Children and First Aid Certificate.
Full Clean UK Driving License and access to own car.
Adaptable and flexible work approach.
Experience of working with children aged 5-18 years old.
Experience in delivering sessions in Rugby League and/or Multi-Sports.

Job Types: Zero hours contract, Part-time

Salary: £12.00-£15.00 per hour. Higher rates negotiable on an individual basis.
