Job Title: Rugby League Coach – Huddersfield Giants U16 Girls Scholarship Programme. (Huddersfield Giants Community Trust)

Reports to: Rebecca Colwell (Head of Rugby for the Trust)

Position Description:

The Huddersfield Giants U16 Scholarship Girls Programme, delivered through Huddersfield Giants Community Trust, is seeking a passionate and dedicated coach to support the development and coaching of young athletes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain coaching experience within a professional rugby league environment while contributing to the growth of future players.

As a coach, you will work alongside other coaching staff to deliver high-quality sessions, ensuring that each player has the opportunity to develop their skills, fitness, and understanding of the game.

Role Requirements and Duties:

To work collaboratively with other HGCT & Giants staff to ensure the programme is delivered to the highest possible standard.
Create a safe environment for players.
Plan, prepare, and deliver high quality sports coaching sessions to players.
Produce Individual Development Plans for players as instructed.
Ensure good communication with players parents/guardians.
Provide feedback to the Head of Rugby on players progression.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Hold at least 1 years’ experience of coaching in a sports setting.
Have experience of coaching in community clubs.
Hold a Level 2 RFL coaching certificate.
Be passionate about working with young athletes.
Display the ability to work as part of a team and show self-motivation.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to develop and implement high quality and creative sessions for girls to engage in.

Desirable:

An ability to keep and maintain records
Current enhanced DBS check
First Aid Certificate.
Full Clean UK Driving License and access to own car.
Adaptable and flexible work approach.
Experience of working with children and young people aged 15 & 16.
Experience in delivering sessions in Rugby League.

Schedule:

Monday evenings – 24 sessions per calendar season.
