Giant Howarth Sleepout 3

Published: 13th August 2024

The Giant Howarth Sleepout returns on Friday 11th October 2024 for the third instalment – in continued partnership between Giants Community Trust and Howarths Foundation.

  • Sleepout fundraiser to raise funds to support vulnerable individuals
  • Registration now open
  • Participants spend a night outdoors at The John Smiths Stadium

Growing year on year – the 2023 sleepout involved over 90 participants who gave up a night in their own beds and came together to raise vital funds and awareness to support the vulnerable in our local region.

The Giant Howarth Sleepout is a large fundraiser and a firm fixture in both charities annual calendars. We encourage businesses, business leaders (who may be looking at a CSR opportunity), team building initiatives, families (including children), individuals, sports groups, community groups, supporters, colleagues and others to come together and take part in the third instalment.

The event is designed to provide a powerful one-off experience and highlight the hardship that individuals who are homeless cope on a daily basis. However for one night only there will be a host of light entertainment and activities to keep the spirits high as the temperature decreases into the night.

About both charity sectors and mission:

Howarths Foundation works with local third sector organisations to support individuals who are or have been homeless back into employment. Part of this process is to provide work packages, to make the transition back into employment more accessible for the individual. One back to work package costs a minimum of £500, which includes food parcels, clothing, and travel.

Huddersfield Giants Community Trust is the official charity of the Huddersfield Giants and uses the power of the sport to engage and inspire individuals of all ages and abilities through four key areas: Sport, Education, Health and Social Inclusion. The Trust has a mission to support underserved children and the vulnerable through our community projects.
