After a long journey down to Birmingham, the players arrived at the Futsal Arena motivated and eager to progress to the Futsal National Finals.
The opposition for the first of 4 games were Preston North End. Despite dominating the game and creating a host of chances, Huddersfield Town found themselves behind on 2 occasions. However they persevered and continued to play their game and stuck to the game plan eventually coming out 3-2 winners.
Onto the second game where spirits were high and the Terriers were off to flying start with 3 goals in the first 10 minutes against Southend United. However lapses in concentration led to relinquishing the 3 goal lead and the game finished at 3-3. This result left Huddersfield only needing 1 win out of the 2 remaining games to progress to the next round and into the Futsal National Finals. These games were against Cardiff City and Bradford City respectively.
Huddersfield fell to a 4-2 defeat against Cardiff City due to missing a number of clear chances. This meant qualification went down to the last game.
The players stayed positive throughout the day and were ready to put in a big performance against local rivals, Bradford City in order to seal a place in the top 2 of the group. The players showed great heart and passion along with ability to see off Bradford City 2-1 and progressed to the next round of the EFL Futsal Cup, the Futsal National Finals.
