Huddersfield Giants Community Trust recently held the local Inspired 9’s tournament where local secondary schools competed in the RFL schools competition.
The tournament is a great opportunity for boys and girls in year groups 7 and 8 to experience and take part in Rugby League competitions and test themselves in a competitive environment.
The event was held on Wednesday 5th June at local community club Newsome Panthers, where over 100 players showcased their skills and worked together in unison to be crowned winners of their specific age groups.
The age groups competing were – Girls Year 7 & 8, Boys Year 7 and Boys Year 8.
The winners of the age groups were crowned local champions and will head to Warrington to compete in the regional finals, on behalf of Huddersfield Giants!
Huddersfield Giants star Sam Hewitt was in attendance at Newsome to show his support and share words of encouragement to the teams.
