Huddersfield Giants Community Trust is delighted to announce the date of the 2024 Ronan Costello Festival!
The festival is an annual event, a legacy created in memory of the late Ronan Costello – a very talented Giants Academy and Brighouse Rangers forward who sadly lost his life while playing for the Giants U19’s in 2016.
This year’s event, proudly sponsored by L & G Flooring, will take place on Thursday 27th June at 6pm, on Leeds Road Playing Fields, where we will continue to celebrate and remember Ronan, who was a former learner at the Trust’s post 16 education programme.
Created as a large junior Rugby festival, we bring together local community clubs and players in age groups U7, U8 and U9’s to celebrate Ronan’s legacy and compete in competitive small sided fixtures.
Last year over 150 players, both boys and girls from local grassroots clubs in Kirklees and Calderdale came together, as a true Rugby League family.
We welcome all community clubs in the region to register (which includes a small donation fee) to create a positive and inspiring evening while helping to raise valuable funds towards Huddersfield Giants Community Trust Ronan Costello Fund and Headway (Brain Injury charity).

Becky Colwell, Giants Rugby Development Officer comments on her second festival: We are delighted to confirm the date for this years festival after the success of last years event. It is fantastic to see so many teams, clubs and local communities come together to celebrate Ronan and continue his legacy. Last year we had 150 players participating and we hope to make it even bigger than last year!”
