Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and The Zone is once again calling on the local community to help make a difference this winter as it’s popular Donate a Coat Appeal returns for a second year.
Following the incredible success of last year’s campaign, which saw the Trust receive over 120 coats donated to support people across the local community. The Trust is looking to build on that achievement and help even more individuals and families stay warm during the colder months ahead.
As temperatures begin to drop and the cost of living continues to impact many households, the appeal offers a simple way for residents to support those who may be struggling. Donations of clean, good-quality winter coats for children and adults will be collected and distributed to people in need through the Trust’s community network and partners.
The success of last year’s appeal highlighted the generosity of the Kirklees community, with donations coming from customers, local businesses and community groups.
This year, the Trust is encouraging supporters to once again check their wardrobes for any coats that are no longer needed but could make a meaningful difference to someone else.
Harry Crook General Manager of The Zone said:
“We were overwhelmed by the support shown during our first Donate a Coat Appeal. The coats donated last year made a real difference to people across our community, ensuring they could stay warm during the winter months. We know there is still a need for support, so we’re delighted to launch the appeal again and encourage anyone who can donate to get involved.”
The appeal reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of local communities, particularly during challenging times. Every donated coat helps provide warmth and reassurance to people facing hardship this winter.
Whether you can donate one coat or several, every contribution is greatly appreciated and will help support someone in need.
The drop off point is at our community hub, The Zone, St Andrews Road, Huddersfield, HD1 6PT.
