Further details for parents/carers

The Fun Day Activities are ball-based activities adjusted to meet individual needs including those in wheelchairs. As part of the Football Fun Day, players will be taking part in a number of low/moderate level physical activities that might be individual and team-based. While all activities are managed and controlled by the coaches leading the event and are pitched at a suitable level for the group, we cannot be fully responsible for the physical health of the players taking part. The intensity of the activities will be variable and players participation is completely limited by them / their carers.

We do make every effort to ensure that all players are included and that the level of activity is not deemed as too strenuous/offputting. Care has been taken to plan activities that are fully inclusive of people with Learning difficulties and other associated issues. There will be a learning disability physio staff in attendance at the event.

Activities will be facilitated by a mixture of coaches provided by our partners The FA, Huddersfield Community Trust and Shelley CFC with the assistance of staff from NHS learning disabilities and Creative Minds. We have introduced a new game of football rounders on the pitch for people using wheelchairs. We can also provide people with information on the day about other activities and sources of activities for people to get involved with.
