We are delighted to announce that Huddersfield Giants Community Trust is now in partnership with Flat Stan LTD delivering First Aid workshops into Kirklees Schools.

HGCT Currently deliver over 182 hours of sport each week across Kirklees and surrounding areas, and with the aid of Flat Stan LTD the initiative can now contribute to offering even more to the young people of our local community.
The workshops are fun, enriching and engaging. They are suitable for children of all abilities promoting language, social and emotional development, literacy and communication. Flat Stan and Huddersfield Giants Community Trust pride their selves on being inclusive.
The 60 -75 minute workshops will provide the children with the skills and knowledge to recognise a variety of first aid situations and how to deal with them and summons help.
Every child will receive the Flat Stan First Aid book, certificate and a Flat Stan sticker. The book allows the children to revisit topics and share their experiences with family and friends.
Why is Flat Stan different?
Child friendly Flat Stan manikins are used during the workshops. They give children confidence when being shown how and when to summons help, how to check if someone is breathing, how to deliver chest compressions, how to help someone who is choking, bleeding or help someone who has suffered a burn.
Flat Stan LTD’s dedicated team of trainers are all qualified First Aid Trainers and enhanced DBS checked as well as being Safeguarding aware. The workshops are practical based with the manikins and children are encouraged to have a go at pushing on the chest (CPR), giving them a tap (getting a response) whilst learning other very important lifesaving skills.
We know how amazing the young children of our community can be and with the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and Flat Stan LTD working in partnership we aim to give the children of Kirklees the opportunity to learn and develop skills which they can use for the rest of their lives.
