JUNIOR RUGBY CAMP HUGE SUCCESS

Successful Junior Rugby Camp sets foundation for future growth

Giants Community Trust welcomed young rugby players from across the region during the Easter holidays for a highly successful Junior Rugby Camp at The Zone, the home of Huddersfield Giants Community Trust.

Held during the Easter school break, the new-look camp engaged primary-aged children of varying ages and abilities in a series of structured, fun rugby sessions. Designed to build confidence, develop core rugby skills and promote teamwork, the programme provided a safe, inclusive and positive environment for all participants.

The camp proved hugely popular, selling out well over a week prior to the session starting. Participants enjoyed a wide range of activities including passing and tackling drills, small-sided games and teamwork challenges.

Following the success of the Easter delivery, the junior rugby camp will now become a regular fixture within the school holiday calendar, enhancing the Trust’s wider mission to provide additional rugby opportunities for children within the local community. The growth of the programme also aligns seamlessly with the recent appointment of Cammy Augustine as the Trust’s new Rugby League Development Officer.

Cammy shared his thoughts on building momentum and growing participation ahead of the upcoming May half-term sessions:

“I’m extremely proud to build on the success of  our rugby specific camp at The Zone. The response during the Easter holidays was fantastic,  after hearing the positive feedback from the session.

“That enthusiasm has given us real momentum heading into the May half-term sessions, where we’re looking to grow participation even further, with new activities and continue creating high-quality, fun rugby experiences for primary-aged children. Providing more opportunities like this within our local community is something I’m passionate about, and I’m excited to see the programme continue to develop.”

The next session will take place on Thursday 28th May, 10:00-14:00 at The Zone, HD1 6PT. Booking is now open via the link below. We advise to book quick to avoid disappointment.
