Job vacancy- NCS Manager, Huddersfield Giants Community Trust

An exciting opportunity has been created for an NCS Manager to join a successful National Citizen Service team within Huddersfield Giants Community Trust at The Zone, off St Andrews Rd, Huddersfield HD1 6PT

Huddersfield Giants Community Trust is a registered charity (1117768) and non-profit making organisation. Using the influence of professional sport, we are responsible for all community sports and educational & NCS initiatives on behalf of Huddersfield Giants Rugby League.

The National Citizen Service department is part of HGCT, and is contracted to deliver the Summer and Autumn provision to young people 16-17 in Huddersfield. The scheme aims to bring young people from different backgrounds together to develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. It encourages personal and social development by working on skills such as Leadership, Teamwork and Communication. The skills learned through voluntary social action are widely documented to have a positive impact on the employability skills of a young person.

Employment will be situated at Huddersfield Giants Community Trust, The Zone Huddersfield HD1 6PT

Contract: 37.5 hours    Salary: £24,000-£27,000

Role Brief: 

  • Plan and deliver high quality NCS provision and programs
  • Oversee the delivery of all components of the program curriculum, driving a high-quality standard of delivery throughout
  • Manage and coordinate a staffing team
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across Huddersfield, to enhance program delivery and social action partnerships.
  • Lead on safeguarding protocols and compliance in accordance to local and national policy and procedures
  • Recruit staff to deliver the program in line with Huddersfield Giants Community Trust safer recruitment strategy
  • Work with families, participants, and external services to ensure all participants needs have been identified and their experience on NCS is safe, inclusive and rewarding.
  • Management of virtual, local, and residential delivery of the program, including social action and the changemakers program.
  • To ensure equality, diversity and inclusion expectations are met in conjunction with HGCT policy and procedures
  • To manage the logistics of all NCS program delivery
